Hi
We discussed this during OSLC Domains TC, and Andrii has read on Open Project. It seems that there is a cost associated with joining,
which is certainly not what I had in mind. Plus, agree that our current setup on Eclipse/Github is much more beneficial.
Jim had the idea of getting a student to do some of the work, which I also believe would be sufficient.
Even though I work at the university, I am unfortunately not allowed to pay our own students (given that it is public money).
But if someone would be interested in sponsoring a student or two, I can volunteer to support them technically. If I can recruit students
from KTH, can I also supervise them.
Ideas suggested:
* Updating oslc4j to support core 3.0
* Implementation of reference implementations for the OSLC domains – based on an import of the specifications from OASIS (a much tighter
integration between the specs and the implementation).
* …
regards

Is there any example project at Open Projects to see how it works out in practice? I'm afraid that Open Projects may provide less visiblity than github, which may make it harder to attract more developers to use and contribute to OSLCv3.

Good idea Jim! How about OSLC 3.0?

Given that all the OSLC specifications are being developed under OASIS, I wonder if we should be leverage OASIS Open
Projects for OSLC reference implementations (at least the latest and new ones) instead of GitHub or eclipse/Lyo.

Members,
OASIS is now accepting proposals for Open Projects--our new program that supports shared community development of code, APIs, specifications, reference implementations, and protocols--all in one place, all under
popular open source licenses.
Unlike a typical foundation, OASIS enables open source work to be recognized and referenced in international policy and procurement. That's a huge boost for adoption and credibility. Open Project sponsors have the
choice to advance their work through the OASIS approval process with the potential for publication by ISO, IEC, ITU, ANSI, the EU via MSP, and other bodies.
Each Open Project will be governed by its own group of sponsoring organizations, but anyone will be able to contribute to the work.
If you have an open source project that needs a start or a new home, we want to make it easy for you to bring it to OASIS. For the next three months, current OASIS Sponsor members will receive a 30% discount off
an annual Open Project sponsorship fee and Contributors will receive 10% off.
Please contact me to discuss details.
Kind regards,
Carol
