Re: [linuxtools-dev] Getting involved

Excelent, Thanks a lot, this is what I was looking for. I will try to do my best to figure it out on my own, if not, I will get back to you.

Regards
Petr

Hello everyone,

Hi Petr,

I would like to get involved with the plugin development, specifically Gcov. So what I did: I have downloaded sources, built it, fixed a bug which was bothering me, created a patch file - and at this place I am stuck.

That's really nice to hear.

I have read the instructions on https://wiki.eclipse.org/Linux_Tools_Project/Getting_Involved, and I understand I should somehow use Gerrit, but even though I am more or less skilled C/C++ developper, Git and Gerrit are completely new to me.

Our friends at vogella have a nice tutorial on how to do this. http://www.vogella.com/tutorials/Gerrit/article.html#eclipsegerritcontribution . You can also jump on #eclipse-linux irc channel on freenode and we can do it interactively to make it faster.

Can I ask someone for a helpful hand, or advice on how to proceed? A link for a tutorial might do, but I was unable to find something reasonable.

Thanks
Petr
