The "Profiling Categories" page was made to further the profiling unification
efforts. Here the plug-ins are grouped into categories to serve some sort of
abstraction over the multiple tools we provide. However, if users are familiar
with the tools they should still be able to easily find the preferences for the
individual plugins. I guess this would be under a "Profiling Tools" root page.
As an alternative we could have the following preferences structure under C/C++:

    Profiling -> Tools
              -> Categories

Of course this is just a suggestion, and at the moment it might not be worth it,
since most of our C/C++ profiling tools don't have/need global preferences from
what I have seen.

- I do not know the point of these pages. I do not see their effect. Can somebody help me on this topic ?
- These three pages are highly correlated. Adding gcov preference page at the same hierarchical level looks odd.

Therefore I think things like Gcov, and other C/C++ preferences provided by Linux Tools

should go under C/C++, but not using a "Linux Tools" category.

 

The goal in the end is to provide a united solution for C/C++ users.
