[linuxtools-dev] Move to git requested with webmaster!

Hi,

I've requested our move to git:

  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=337892

I tried to CC as many of the committers (some past ones, too) as
possible on that bug. I've got an experimental copy of the proposed
repository up here:

  https://github.com/overholt/org.eclipse.linuxtools

I'll bring in changes that (will) have been made to SVN trunks between
the time that git repository was made and the time it goes live. Those
playing along at home may notice that there are only two branches there:
'master' and 'stable-0.7'. There's also only a single tag: v0.7.0.
This is intentional. I'll go back and merge over the previous release
branches/tags ASAP. 0.7 is the most pressing branch so I did it first.
See below for a comment about other existing tags and branches.

Once the repository is moved, we'll have a few more things to do:

Get Athena build working with git repository
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=337504

Switch Hudson job to git repository
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=337509

Determine which SVN branches we want to keep when we move to git
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=337507

Determine which SVN tags we want to keep when we move to git
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=337508

I'll be emailing committers individually about those last two bugs. The
reason for them is that we have a tonne of tags and branches now that
can probably just be archived.

If anyone has questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,

Andrew
