Re: [linuxtools-dev] New SystemTap contribution

Hi,

Charley and Roland (CC'd) are working with us at Red Hat as interns.
They have created some visualization plugins that make use of custom
SystemTap scripts. This is similar to Anithra & Co.'s work but their
focus so far has been on local users (ie. no fancy remote capabilities).

For their visualization work, Roland & Charley have been experimenting
with GEF's Zest framework [1]. The results are very promising.

This sounds really good! I havent gone through the code as yet but from what i understood in the bugzilla the focus seems to be on user-space tracing which is not covered at all by the existing plugins. Looks like we are going to have a nice multi-purpose systemtap ui tool :). Roland and Charley - in case you were not aware we have a fortnightly systemtap call which is hosted by RedHat. It would be good if you could join this call so the community knows what is happening and
we can get suggestions/feedback. The invite and conference numbers were sent
out by Frank Ch. Eigler (fche@xxxxxxxxxx).

Regards,
Anithra.
