Re: [jwt-dev] Integration: JWT and EPF Composer

Hi Florian,

I don’t know exactly how implement.

But, my idea is similar the WfMC generic model as following attached.

EPF Composer define the process and JWT interpret the process defined.

Best regards,

Samuel.

Hi Samuel,

right now I don't use the EPF Composer (yet). As far as I know it is closely related to modeling software processes (such as the waterfall model or V-Model XT) in order to improve software development life-cycle. JWT is less about software processes, but more about business processes and executable workflows. Therefore, we generate code, too, but code that is executable on workflow engines (XPDL, jPDL, BPEL, etc.).
We already had internally some discussions that an integration with EPF would make sense and we'd love to do so, but alas we didn't start any further discussions with the EPF team. But this is definitely something we will have a closer look at (once we have the resources for it).

Similarly, the MWE project is quite a good candidate for integration, since we are both related to workflows and how to manage and model them. We are already in contact with Bryan Hunt here (the lead developer of MWE), so this might come earlier...

Since you are probably more familiar with EPF than I am, maybe you already have some concrete ideas how you would see the integration of EPF and JWT? Do you think about one modeler to generate the different artifacts or would you prefer two different modelers with transformations between both?

Thanks for your information and best regards,

Florian

Betreff: [jwt-dev] Integration: JWT and EPF Composer

The EPF (Eclipse Process Framework Composer – www.eclipse.org/epf) is excelent tool to define the process description. I use it since 2007.

Recently, I knew the JWT (Java Workflow Tooling – www.eclipse.org/jwt). It’s a great tool too.

I think that both tools could to work together, complementing each other.

I would like know if exists plans to integrate the both tools?

Thanks!

Samuel Schwebel.
