Re: AW: [jwt-dev] Re: [technology-pmc] Approval for JWT joining Galileo

Hi Florian, all,

With Marc we took a look at the calendar, and the offset "+n" means that we'll have to pre-release our milestones 3 weeks after the platform. That means that platform has a milestone at date M4, then our milestone is at M4 + n weeks.

Since there is no other plugin that depend on us, we (Marc and I) think that it is better to give us as much time as possible after the platform milestone (especially for our first milestone), so that +3 is probably a better choice.

I already changed it on the Galileo wiki page, but if you think that is not the best solution, feel free to change it.

Regards
Mickael

Hi Marc,

this is great news! Having the support from your company makes it a lot
easier for all the things that probably need to be done...

I already posted the good news also on the newsportal. So now we can start
adding our team to the wiki page
(http://wiki.eclipse.org/Galileo_Simultaneous_Release) and do all the other
things that are necessary.
I did the former already, added our project, the project co-leads, Mickael
as release engineer and selected an offset of +2 (but am not sure what this
exactly means right now, so probably this is subject to change!).
Additionally I provided a link to a (not yet existing) wiki page which will
include our ramp-down policy in the future.

Best regards,

Florian

Hi Wayne

Thanks for your approval !

We'll be able to move forward from now on.

We'll make sure we know what we're getting into thanks to assets like John
Graham's mentoring and support from the most active current and near future
JWT members.

On this topic, I've got good news : my company (Open Wide)'s CEO Patrick
Bénichou has given me the official stamp for getting into Galileo, in full
knowledge of the kind of involvment it implies, because we see it as
crucial.

Marc

Hi Florian. The Technology PMC does have any project-specific requirements for participating in the release train.

John and I discussed this briefly off line and I am confident that you have the right pieces in place to join the release train. My one bit of advice is that you make sure that you know what you're getting into.

+1

Wayne

Hi PMC,
the members of the project Java Workflow Tooling (JWT) are currently discussing and preparing to join the Galileo release in 2009.
Therefore, we
would like to ask for your approval to make this step and for any advice that you might give us (especially on requirements that are specific to Technology projects). We already discussed the steps that need to be taken for integration into the release train with our new mentor John Graham and we think that we should be able to do everything that is necessary. Thanks and best regards, Florian
