Re: [imp-dev] Problem with installing IMP into Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu

The problem with "missing features/plugins for win/mac" should be gone now.

It turns out that we needed to repeat the platform constraints in the feature manifest (that information also resides in the plugin fragment manifests). This was fixed about a week ago.

Please let us know if you encounter this problem again!

Hi Stephan

I had also problems installing LPG on the nearly same environment - galileo, ubuntu 9.04 - missing features for win and mac. I've ended up in installing LPG in the dropins directory. maybe this problems are gone with the actual versions

Subject: [imp-dev] Problem with installing IMP into Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu

Hi,

I'm trying to install IMP from
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/imp/updates/ into Eclipse Galileo
under Ubuntu 8.10. In the "Available Software" dialog I select all
software items. The "Install Details" dialog shows the following items
to be installed:

 IMP Language Meta-Tooling (Incubation) 0.1.94
org.eclipse.imp.metatooling.feature.group
 IMP Language Meta-Tooling (Incubation) 0.1.91
org.eclipse.imp.feature.group
 IMP Program Analysis (Incubation) 0.1.6
org.eclipse.imp.analysis.feature.group
IMP Program Analysis UI (Incubation) 0.1.5
org.eclipse.imp.analysis.ui.feature.group
 IMP Runtime (Incubation) 0.1.99 org.eclipse.imp.runtime.feature.group
IMP Source Formatting Support (Incubation) 0.1.4
org.eclipse.imp.formatting.feature.group
LPG Generator and Templates 2.0.16 lpg.generator.feature.group
 LPG Meta-Tooling (Incubation) 0.1.90 org.eclipse.imp.lpg.feature.group
 LPG Runtime (Incubation) 2.0.16 lpg.runtime.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.analysis Source 0.1.6
org.eclipse.imp.analysis.source.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.analysis.ui Source 0.1.5
org.eclipse.imp.analysis.ui.source.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.formatting Source 0.1.4
org.eclipse.imp.formatting.source.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.lpg Source 0.1.90
org.eclipse.imp.lpg.source.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.metatooling Source 0.1.94
org.eclipse.imp.metatooling.source.feature.group
 org.eclipse.imp.runtime Source 0.1.99
org.eclipse.imp.runtime.source.feature.group
 Polyglot 2.4.0 polyglot.feature.group
SDF and BOX tools 1.0.10 sdf_eclipse_installer_feature.feature.group

After pressing "Finish" the installation fails with the following
details:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not
be found.
Software currently installed: IMP Language Meta-Tooling (Incubation)
0.1.91 (org.eclipse.imp.feature.group 0.1.91)
Missing requirement: IMP Language Support Meta-Tooling (Incubation)
0.1.88 (org.eclipse.imp.metatooling 0.1.88) requires 'bundle
org.eclipse.imp.lpg.runtime 0.0.0' but it could not be found
 Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: IMP Language Meta-Tooling (Incubation) 0.1.91
(org.eclipse.imp.feature.group 0.1.91)
   To: org.eclipse.imp.metatooling [0.1.88]

The installation instructions under
http://www.eclipse.org/imp/installation/installation_instructions.php
say that the LPG features are available from the update site. What could
I be doing wrong when trying to install IMP?

Thanks
Stephan
