The
Corona project is embedding
Axis 2.0, so I guess that’s one data point.

FYI,
pre-req'ing or embedding Axis in your project is no problem to do at Eclipse. I
would have to look around, but I'm 99% sure that there is already some other
projects that are using Axis.
We do have
a process for reviewing and approving the use of code under a 3rd party license
(in this case ASL 2.0). It starts with submitting a contribution
questionnaire. If you have any questions just send an email to either license@xxxxxxxxxxx or to the Technology
PMC.
3. See #2 as if we do this in Eclipse not
sure how we would resolve the requirement for Apache Axis.
