ok so the cow doesn't crash anymore :-) #253147 is fixed
#253152 has a partial fix for some types of vtk data
#253157 is fixed

Not sure  what about 253150, but i retagged with those changes and the new 
vtk libs 5.2.0 for Mac and rebuilt RC0, new packages should be available 
soon in exactly the same place.
