The standard job description language in g-Eclipse is JSDL, that's why  
some functionalities may not work for JDL. And - as Nicholas said - to see  
an output file in Job's view it has to be listed in Data Staging section.

I attach a JSDL file with hostname job that will put it's result into  
out.txt file which you can access from Job's view.
