The solution was designed with gLite's FTS in mind.

Yes, the priorities will be described more or less as follows:

Highest
 - kind of fire-and-forget transfer, (GSIFTP goes here, I think)
 - like previous but with clean-up method at the end (release files, 
space etc.) (SRM goes here)
 - transfers that are able to resume itself after failure, (gLite's FTS?)
 - synchronous transfer (classic FTP?)
