I did create the splash from Linux with Gimp and did verify it on Linux only.
It's very likely that the BMP I created suffers from https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=439573 . I can re-create the BMP and try to avoid this issue but if anyone feels more skilled on the topic of image export than I am, I'd be glad to let them do it or at least be advised on how to do it properly.
