I commented on the bug yesterday but I don't think EPP can do much about it. And p2 cannot do anything either because the error is generated into the repository earlier.

I see the problem either in PDE, or in the product export, in some (generated) Ant files, etc. - the question is: Why is Platform not hitting the same problem?

What EPP could do is renaming the directory or moving the correct eclipse.ini file to another location after running the p2 director. But this would result in the very same problems that we tried to solve with the p2 package creation for Galileo because we would end up with some hand-modified files with different check-sums.

Any opinions?

The investigation of bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=275679 showed that the Mac packages are not usable from a p2 standpoint (can not install) because it seems that the eclipse.ini is incomplete.
