RE: [epp-dev] UPDATE: Galileo package testing

Hi Markus,

One strange thing I found in the report package is that org.eclipse.datatools.enablement.sdk.feature in the package was the M5 version not the M6. I think it might also occur in other packages which include dtp features.

I checked the content of dtp.build and Galileo update site(http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo/index.php ), which are both correct. And we did not change the content since March,16. So why the epp M6 package will pick up the M5 feature?

Thanks,

Xiaoying

Subject: [epp-dev] UPDATE: Galileo package testing

Hi *,

in the meantime my new build finished successfully for all platforms, so I think we should test the newest one. Look here: http://www.eclipse.org/epp/download.php build 20090323-1714.

[If you already tested the last version... just tell me which one you tested.]

I am downloading the packages right now and will do some testing on them, but this can take ages because every package needs about 20 minutes to download over the wireless network here.

I had a discussion here about the mac packages. The outcome of this

What I did...
[1] I started a new build that builds macosx.cocoa.x86 instead of the
old macosx.carbon.ppc packages.
[2] I included a workaround for the missing linux-x86_64 CPP package

So, what's your thinking about this change in the mac packages? Dropping
the old one and using the macosx.cocoa.x86 packages only?

I think that is a fine choice. It has been a couple of years (I think) since Apple started focusing on Intel instead of PPC; frthermore, I'm pretty sure the SWT team is anxious to get the Cocoa implementation in front of people ASAP (it's been one of the most-requested features from users for a long time).
