hiho,
The North American face-to-face meeting will be November 2
& 3 in Chicago.
The specific location logistics are here: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/epf-dev/msg01271.html.
The meeting will be from 9am to 5pm on Thursday the 2nd
and it will start at 9am on Friday. We will determine the end time on
Friday based on the travel plans of the attendees; it will be sometime mid-afternoon.
At the last meeting we had some draft agenda items and those
were revisited, prioritized and put on the schedule as the first order of business
at the meeting. That worked well. Here are the topics to be covered
at the next face-to-face (in no particular order after the first item)
-
Basic Introductions and decide the
specific schedule of the agenda items
-
EPF Process Content universe
o
Identify all process authoring
efforts and discuss their dependencies
-
Walk through and flesh out project
plan for next release of EPF process content. Do we have the roadmap we
need to get there?
-
Revisit the responsibilities across
committers and other contributors. Will we keep the notion of package
owners? If so, will we keep the current package owners in the same
roles? (This might be scheduled for some time during the F2F when we can
get a couple additional committers on the phone)
-
Covansys – Presentation on Work
Components donation
-
Discuss additional collateral that
should be delivered with a cohesive chunk of process content (what additional
information should be available to process engineer consumers?)
-
Additional collateral
-
Revisit existing method authoring
guidelines. Define additional guidelines for OpenUP method work
(everything from naming conventions to idioms of “required fields”
for process elements to fit into OpenUP as well-behaved citizens of the process
repositories)
-
Vision:
o
Discuss OpenUP/Basic Vision and
possibly refine or update based on what we have learned. Clearly define
the edges of the Vision such that we have some criteria to help us avoid scope
creep.
o
Discuss the Vision of the whole OpenUP
community of processes. What will drive our decisions as to what is
included under the EPF project?
-
Discuss cross-cutting issues of
OpenUP and define objectives related to them and fit those into the project
plan (e.g. “How do we get more principles into tasks/guidelines?”
or just some specific issues of consistency)
This is just a first cut based on some ideas I had, plus
some ideas from today’s conference call, plus some ideas sent to me by
other committers. Please come to the meeting with additional ideas.
If you are going to miss the meeting, please send any additional agenda topics
to the epf-dev list.
Gotta run to the airport or I won’t be there tomorrow!
