[epf-dev] Some comments on Balance practices

Hello everyone,

 

This e-mail will be short because I have to run – I can just hear everyone going yay no more spam from Steve today J

 

Of our Balance practices I really like:

            Understand the Domain

            Describe Requirements from the Stakeholder’s perspective

            Prioritize requirements for implementation

            Know your audience

            Manage Risk

 

I’m really not sure about the following  - these are all good things but if we want to keep our practice to about 20 or less we do have to drop a few:

 

            Right-size your process – is this really a requirements issue or a process engineering issue?

            Balance test effort

            Leverage Legacy assets.

            Actively promote re-use – good idea but is this really cost effective on smaller projects.

            Leverage automation

            Separate the problem from the solution

            Know when to stop.???
