Re: [emf-dev] EMF IP Logs

Hi Team,

See http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/eclipse-project-ip-log.php at the bottom of the page.

CDO, and Net4j already have their own IP Log, they just need to be updated.

Cheers...
Anthony

Hi Eike,

Thanks for the response. Yup, you *would* be covered if we were using the automated IP log. But, since it only works for the whole project or not at all, and since several components want to do static logs, you're stuck with the old-school approach.

So, if you don't mind dropping your two contributions into your own IP log (in the same format as the exiting
common log) and submitting it, it would be much appreciated. Note that you do have an entry in section 3 already for net4j, which should be included in yours.

Cheers,
Dave

          Hi again,

I'm still waiting for word from Net4j/CDO. Our options are only a single log for the whole project or one log from each component. If I don't hear anything more, I guess we'll just go with the latter option.
Sorry, I did not realize that my feedback was needed ;-(

We have only two _very_ small contributions that do not come from committers:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&short_desc=&classification=Modeling&product=EMF&component=CDO&component=Net4j&long_desc_type=allwordssubstr&long_desc=&bug_file_loc_type=allwordssubstr&bug_file_loc=&status_whiteboard_type=allwordssubstr&status_w hiteboard=&keywords_type=allwords&keywords=&emailtype1=substring&email1=&emailtype2=substring&email2=&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&votes=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&field0-0-0=flagtypes.name&type0-0-0=equals&value0-0-0=iplog%2B

The iplog+ flag is set properly for these so I thought I was safe. I'm fine with whatever the rest of us decides since this way or that wayit won't cause me much effort ;-)

Cheers

          [emf-dev] EMF IP Logs

          Hi all,

I've exchanged email with a number of people individually about IP Logs, but I just wanted to touch base with the the whole list.

The automated IP Log for all of EMF is here:
          http://www.eclipse.org/projects/ip_log.php?projectid=modeling.emf

To the best of my understanding, it seems that it still doesn't support doing components separately, so one person would need to submit the results for the whole project. I think that's a problem for us. I also know that, for Core at least, it would take considerable Bugzilla tweaking to get a more or less correct result. I know that at least Core, Query, Transaction, Validation, and Teneo have done old-school static logs manually already. So, I think we should just stick with that approach for this release.

I've updated the log for Core in CVS (modeling/emf/emf/eclipse-project-ip-log.csv). I've also folded all those changes into the main log for EMF (modeling/emf/eclipse-project-ip-log.csv). I can see that Query, Transaction, and Validation are up to date in that combined log, too.

I'm happy either to submit our logs independently from our components, or to submit a single log once everyone has included their contributions. Could people please voice their preferences?

          Cheers,
          Dave
