Re: [emf-dev] What happened to bugzilla's Target Milestones?

Open a bug (or add a comment to the existing bug about cleaning up target milestones) asking that the results of query X be all moved to target milestone Y. Assign to webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx.

Otherwise, there's 'change several bugs at once' on a query result page, but you'll get 168 emails if you do that. :)

(Those images worked fine on the weekend; not sure why they're hosed now. Curses!)

Nick,

Maybe some of trouble was just caused by the server outages of the weekend. The web interfaces is *now* correctly showing all generic milestones. Maylyn still has problems ;-(

The more severe problem persists. My existing bugzillas have been mangled and now show up with "Past", as Christian as complained about. The bug history could indeed help me, but not for 178 bugs: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&short_desc=&classification=Modeling&product=EMF&component=CDO&component=Net4j&long_desc_type=allwordssubstr&long_desc=&bug_file_loc_type=allwordssubstr&bug_file_loc=&status_whiteb oard_type=allwordssubstr&status_whiteboard=&keywords_type=allwords&keywords=&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&resolution=FIXED&emailtype1=substring&email1=&emailtype2=substring&email2=&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&votes=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop&value0-0-0=

I think I will set them all to M3. Is there an automatic way that prevents the email flood?

Cheers
/Eike

I thought Kenn's idea of slotting MDT's EMO bugs into milestones was a good one, because it showed us when we needed either to make changes (e.g., capabilities and other things that the build system doesn't deal with) or just to verify that we are compliant and sign our names to them.
Yes, that's true -- it's good to see what's due, as well as WHEN.
I actually found some instances in my components where things that, for example, the build system would do for me weren't being done because I just wasn't leveraging the existing capability (e.g., individual source bundles).
If you switch over to individual source bundles for your components, and exploit the PDE Packager in buildAll.xml instead of the hacky "assembly by hand" approach that we had for Ganymede... and get really bored... you're welcome to tackle EMF too. Everyone loves a parade... of patches. :)

(Both of those have examples in the wiki.)
