Because CVS *can* be configured to ignore the contents of ".project"
file and use the CVS folder/module name as project name.

AFAICT the EGit import functionality relies on the vanilla Eclipse
import existing projects functionality whereas CVS uses a custom
implementation to create (& checkout) projects in the workspace.
