[eclipse.org-planning-council] Fwd: Problem with M7 repo

Hi,

Jeff from Linux Tools was asked to contact planning council to figure out how to handle the situation where Linux Tools M7 by accident bundled a lib folder with binaries that were *not* approved for release.

The issue have been fixed in RC1.

Here is the crux of the msg from Jeff:

We have removed our M7 repo with the version issues but Wayne Beaton
has requested I contact the planning council to get the old features/plug-ins removed from the M7 repo before we submit our ipLog for Mars. The features
and plug-ins are:

org.eclipse.linuxtools.docker.feature
org.eclipse.linuxtools.docker.core
org.eclipse.linuxtools.docker.ui

Our current RC1 offering no longer uses the lib directory as all of our
approved dependencies are in Orbit.

Can someone help with this?

rest is below if want more background.

Hi Max,

I tried sending the following to the planning council, but could not send it without
subscribing. The list does not show up as a list I can subscribe.

Can you handle the request or forward it on? I noticed you have posted to the list.

The M7 core plug-in has a lib directory with the dependency jars. The ones there were filled in by the maven build and not the ones we had built ourselves that match
our CQs.

I have removed our M7 repo, but the Docker stuff needs to be removed from the aggregate
M7 repo. RC1 is fine as we use Orbit and we match our approved CQs.

Subject: Problem with M7 repo

Hello,

Linux Tools recently shipped Docker plug-ins in the M7 aggregation.
We had gone through approval for a number of dependencies to support
connecting to a Docker daemon. Our old builds were using maven to
download needed jars to a lib directory inside our core plug-in. In
M7, we shipped the old lib directory with the jars inside it. A number
of those jars aren't the versions we got approval for.

Thanks,

-- Jeff Johnston (Linux Tools)
