Greetings.
We have two reviews this week.
First up is the Sapphire project [1] with their 0.4 release review
[2].
From the project website:
"Sapphire aims to raise UI writing to a higher level of
abstraction. The core premise is that the basic building block of
UI should not be a widget (text box, label, button, etc.), but
rather a property editor. Unlike a widget, a property editor
analyzes metadata associated with a given property, renders the
appropriate widgets to edit that property and wires up data
binding. Data is synchronized, validation is passed from the model
to the UI, content assistance is made available, etc."
Next is the Gyrex project [3] with their 0.11 release review [4].
From the project website:
"Gyrex provides a platform on top of the Equinox OSGi
framework to allow seamless and pain-free operation of Equinox
server clusters. It also provides frameworks and concepts for
developing, deploying and scaling applications on top of Gyrex
based clouds."
In other news... if your Eclipse project is still using CVS, you
need to start thinking about migrating [5] your project to Git. You
have a little more than a year before we make all existing CVS
repositories read-only. The countdown has begun [6]. If you have
questions, or are having problems, please ask.
Thanks,
Wayne
