I think you meant 'cannot recommend SVN', or rather 'cannot recommend Subversive'.  

I've been using SVN extensively for several years and have found that the only Eclipse plug-in that works reliably for me is Subclipse.  I too have experienced too many issues with Subversive (though I haven't used it in about 3 months).
