Re: [eclipse.org-architecture-council] What Eclipse stuff is in maven repo now

Doug and other esteemed members of the AC,

Your input on Bug 283745 [1] would be appreciated.

I'm trying to turn that bug into requirements for an Eclipse Maven Repository.

FYI - I believe I sent this before but thought I would repeat since we are hosting a Maven repository @ Eclipse.

As part of the EclipseLink project's nightly/milestone/release build and publishing we also produce Maven artefacts. This has allowed consumers who wish to stay up to date with our development to consume EclipseLink bundles easily using Maven.

Repository: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?r=1&nf=1&file=/rt/eclipselink/maven.repo

I am not a Maven expert but if other projects are interested I can connect them with our build engineer.

Having a central/common repository at Eclipse would be much better in my opinion then duplicating into Maven.org. This is definitely true for nightly/milestone builds but depending on user demand we could publish our releases to Maven.org.

The dates appear to be (almost) all 2007. I recall hearing about somebody who decided to do a mass-import. There was some concern that the format of something-or-other wasn't right. How's that for vague?

I think that an up-to-the-minute repository would be more useful for adopters of Eclipse technology.

Hi,

If you go here:

http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/org/eclipse/

You can see what Eclipse stuff is in that maven repository (the main
repository? I think so, but I'm not a maven expert). These contents
are something we should consider when thinking about why people would
want to consume Eclipse bundles with maven.
