+1 for 3.4.2. I heard this issue to
be critical to some consumers out there, fix is simple and has been exercized
extensively in 3.5.

JDT/Core requests approval to fix 
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=244762.

The fix has been released for a while in the HEAD branch and we would like
to backport it for 3.4.2. Without the fix, the compiler has no good way
to 
abort the compilation and a NullPointerException is thrown.
The fix is safe and self-contained.

A patch is also attached to the bug.
