Looks like clean the deltas solves the above problem and context menus
are working once more. I've left the bug open for now because I'm not
sure whether the reason have been bogus deltas or one can run into this
problem by working longer with the build.
But there's another NPE which happens when the workbench is shuting
down. I've filed bug 320791.
