Both XWT and TM may be used in a mode where you load the resource (XWT 
or TM file), render it, throw it away and subsequently operate on the 
SWT objects. In this mode you needn't understand XML or EMF.

The designer need not understand XML or EMF either, as tools would 
provide a more WYSIWYG experience than editing XML or EMF directly.
