It is not common to release final GA on top of other projects
that didn’t arrive this state e.g. PDT 2.2 based on DLTK 2.0 M2.

Hi Alex,
Since we at the Eclipse PDT project understood that the performance issue of
the indexer is really a blocker for PHP developers, we suggested to make an
early release of PDT 2.2 based on the new indexer mechanism during October
2009. If we want to base it on a final release of DLTK, it requires us to wait
until July 2010, which is very long shot for us.
So basically we have several options and I would be happy if you help us decide
what works better:
1. Start a separate branch for DLTK (from HEAD) where all
"stable" fixes go, then PDT 2.2 can be based on this release and
merge fixes on demand.
2. Have an earlier release of DLTK in about the same time of PDT 2.2 and
continue as planned toward Helios.
3. other options...
We are ok with any choice but would be really happy to get something working
soon, since in our early testing it seems that the new indexer provides better
results and is really "helpful" (read required) for dynamic languages
type resolving.

Roy
