[diffmerge-dev] 'Generic' EMF Diff/Merge

For quite some time, we have been working on generalizing EMF Diff/Merge (EDM) to data that consists in non-EMF Java objects but is governed by similar well-formedness constraints as EMF data [1]. Kudos to Matthieu Helleboid for his impressive contribution!

 

The outcome of this endeavor is in branch ‘generic’. It breaks many APIs, although the reasons are more technical than conceptual so upgrading EDM clients to this new API is not a huge task – we have carried it out on different occasions. But obviously documentation is needed. Still, I’d recommend that people who depend on EDM have a look because we plan to merge this branch with master this year.
