Re: [dali-dev] File encoding

As of the meeting this morning we had determined that we would set all our projects to the default text file encoding. After searching around some I discovered this bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=189319 which is what caused us to switch the project settings to ISO-8859-1. This is a best practice within WTP as detailed in this mailing list post http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/wtp-dev/msg03804.html. I am going to change all of the projects to ISO-8859-1 since some of the more recently created ones were still default.

Hi all,

The project properties for org.eclipse.jpt.ui use the file encoding ISO-8859-1. I’d like to know if there is a reason for it and if we can switch to UTF-8? The nice thing with UTF-8 is that I can use some characters in the javadoc for the UI classes to show the layout.

Thanks,

Pascal…
