RE: [cosmos-dev] Converting SNMP MIBs to SOA/Web Services ManagementArtifacts

Craig,

Yes, I just found out about it this week. An implementation of this
draft might get us around a patent license problem that prevents runtime
MIB processing in open source. Without it, we would probably be limited
to understanding a limited set of MIBs with no way for a customer to add
new ones. Do you have a well defined set of MIBs that you need to
support?

I forgot to mention this draft today when Mark and I discussed SNMP
implementations with Ted from Aperi (who attended our BOF).

Regards,

Don

ManagementArtifacts

This draft rfc turned up in one of my ongoing quests to stay current
with developments around SML:

Apologies if you're already familiar with this work.

This looks like something that could be worth tracking.

Thanks,
    Craig.
