[corona-dev] Read for tommorows meeting: Article on Enterprise Content Management Java Standard JSR-170

http://java.sys-con.com/read/49090.htm

I think if we adopted a JSR-170 compliant open source content management system we could eliminate much of the work we are doing with RepositoryDescriptors and RepositoryAdapters.  We could possibly leverage some significant pieces of user interface capability already provided.  There are a couple of options for Java Content Repository Model (read the article) my first choice would be the Apache Project Apogee my main concern there is the timeframe that they will reach a 1.0 version.  I have not found any roadmap for them yet since they are a new project sometimes it takes a while to ramp up.  The second option (which Apogee also supports) is Apache Jackrabbit.  Jackrabbit is already at version 1.0.1.   I think rather building new repository adapters we just add new type definitions into the Apogee or Jackrabbit.  We will need to determine how to integrate the work we have done for CVS and Workbench Projects into one of these options.

So more discussion for tomorrow meeting…

Thanks for Playing
