Removing CDI would take work and I don't think anyone sees value in that, at least not at this point.

Hi Christelle,

If by "disappear" you mean the removal of the CDI code than the answer is "no", at least I am not aware of such plans. But nobody is working on implementing new features and modifying the CDI to reflect recent changes in GDB.
