Ok, I already have a patch to do that so I'll open a bug on it. It's a bit messy at the moment because there is no easy way to find out what file systems are available, other than scanning the plugins. I've open a bug on this if you'd like to comment: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205067

I have an idea for a simple file system that we can put in the test plug-in to test the affects of EFS without having to work with a full blown remote system. Thanks for this Greg! Subject: Re: [cdt-dev] CDT 5.0 Plan posted Somehow EFS managed to be first on the list, so I guess that means we'd better start doing something about it. :-) I've created a wiki page to document what needs to be done here: http://wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/designs/EFS. I'll be updating this with more details as we work them out. Note that these are just proposals until bugs are created with the CDT 5.0 target milestone set, at which point they become commitments. http://wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/planning/5.0 BTW, I’ve also created the 5.0 milestone so that you can do that J. I’ve also created the 4.0.3 milestone (end of Feb 08) to go along with the 4.0.2 (end of Nov 07).
