RE: [cdt-dev] HEAD is broken

Setting the compliance level to 1.4 gives you the compile errors. You have
to manually set the source and classfile compliance to 1.4 to fix. I'm not
sure why the have it set up that way.

To ensure others don't get the compile error, you should probably set the
project properties to properly reflect the compliance level you are using
instead of relying on people to set their preferences correctly.

And, for now, don't set them to 5.0.

Hi,
I am the one that checked in the code containing the assert. It does
not require java 1.5, but it requires 1.4. 

Are you building with -source 1.3?
