Re: [cdt-dev] Re: Support Variables in Path Specifications and change project types

Roopa,
As I mentioned, C13 was implemented
in the new project wizard. In CDT 1.2, we filtered all targets that were
displayed to a user at project creation time based on the OS that CDT was
running on. So, for example, you would not have a chance to create a shared
library for Solaris if you were running CDT on Windows. Now, there is a
check box on the target selection page of the NPW that unfilters the target
list. You can still only select one target for a project, and you cannot
change it after you have created the project. Support for multiple targets
in a single project is something we are working towards, but changing a
target after a project has been created is not.
I do not know what you mean by batch
functionality, exactly. It is probably worth mentioning that we are currently
working towards the 2.1 release and that there is no real plan of record
as to what will and will not be available in 3.0. Again, you can look at
the bugzilla entry 68232 where there are attachments in ms-word and html
format that outline the features we believe are important.

Hello Sean,.
Can u tell me in which menu is the requirement C13 implemented. I could
not
find it for myself in any of the option menus in Eclipse 3.0 .
Also, whats the time frame targetted for 3.0 release of CDT.?
Is batch functionality present in CDT 2.0? or is it also targetted in 3.0
release?

Roopa,
I prefer that we keep these types of communications on the CDT Dev list
so
that everyone can stay informed. Requirement C13 was implemented via a
check-box on the new project wizard that allows you to remove the target
filter (usually the OS that CDT is running on). C11 and C15 were not
implemented in 2.0 (and I don't think C15 will be on the table for the
next
release either). Please refer to the bugzilla entry 68232 for more details
on what we are planning for the next major release of the CDT managed build
system.

Support Variables in Path
Specifications and change
project types
Hi,
I am a newbie to Eclipse and CDT and getting to know of the features
supported by it.
I'm trying to integrate my build-environment thru CDT.
To integrate my build enviornment with CDT, I need to set in some of the
path variables and also
change Project Types (C15).
These are mentioned in the document " CDT 2.0 Managed Build
System FDS"
,as requirements C11, C13 and C15
respectively.
However, I dont find the UI or similar UI in the present download of CDT.I
'm using 2.0 .1 version and Eclipse 3.0.
Can you let me know if these are implemented in the current release ? If
not, will they be implemented in
subsequent releases of CDT?
Thanks,
Rgds,
Roopa
PS: I did not see any appropriate mailing list to post this query of mine
,
hence am posting it to you
