We as well will be maxed out as we'll be adopting 2.0.x for our IBM
product needs. The DOM work is probably something we would need to get
ready for the mid next year timeframe. However, I'd like to have an idea
architecturally where we want to go by the time we're done on 2.0.x and I
have been able to allocate a big chunk of my time now to look into it. But
I will need all the help I can get, ideas at least :)

What is the time table for this ? somewhere in 2.x ?
We have lots of ideas about this, but can not commit to it right now
bulk of the efforts is on 2.0 and even the short term after 2.0 8-).
