Re: [birt-dev] Website

I had already put the script in the repo and tried, but it didn’t work.

I have no experience in github actions and workflow. In other words I need help from somebody who knows how it works.

Christophe,

This link [1] contains a script that can be run as a GitHub action. My suggestion was to actually put this in the repo and give it a test run. At least we should see that the static content is generated. The next step is waiting on the webmasters to tell us what credentials we can use to actually do the push.

cheers,

Wim

Sorry, but you are answering to my statement that I got stuck following the documentation that I should read the documentation to solve my problem. This makes no sense.

Let me please reiterate my question below. Maybe you have some solution or know-how how I could proceed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Wim!

I read the hints in the link you’ve sent me, but, if I understood the goal of its functionality correctly, it doesn’t match what I understood you want to do.

As far as I’ve understood what you intend, it is to be able to edit the BIRT documentation directly on github and rebuild the documentation static web pages directly on github without passing through a local repo or so.

OK, the first step is done. The documentation can be directly edited on github as you have tested yourself.

For the second step I’ve found the following link

https://docusaurus.io/docs/deployment#deploy

I got stuck in top 5 as this doesn’t work under windows.

I’ve performed top 6, but don’t know if I’ve done evything correctly as I have no experience and know-how concerning guthub’s workflow.

Can you help me?

Or can somebody else help me?

Thanks

Christophe
