Syncing with Eclipse Platform 3.2 Release
The BIRT project (along with many others) has elected to be part of the Eclipse Platform 3.2 release in Jun 2006. As part of the process of joining this release train, each project has agreed to work with the 3.2 release train starting with the Eclipse Platform 3.2 M3 release that is scheduled for early November.
In line with this, the BIRT project will be testing BIRT 2.0 development builds with the Platform 3.2 M3 release when it is available and logging any issues in Bugzilla.
Note: This is preparatory work for the BIRT release in Jun 2006. This is in parallel with the BIRT 2.0 release scheduled for December 2005. BIRT 2.0 will continue to support Eclipse 3.1.
New Committer
The BIRT team have proposed and recommended to the BIRT PMC a new Committer, Jiaying Liu. Jiaying has made valuable contributions to the BIRT release and will continue to do so for future releases. The team held a vote on the nomination and have at least 3 positive votes and no negatives.
The PMC unanimously approved to have Jiaying be a Committer for the project. Welcome on board!
