[aspectj-users] AJDT and Eclipse 3.0 M5

Hi,

I thought I would provide a status
update on this situation.  M5 has introduced 
some radical changes which heavily
impact the way AJDT has been using the base
Eclipse workbench functions.  I
have ported the basics of AJDT to M5 but there 
still remain a number of outstanding
problems - for example I have lost hover 
help on gutter annotations, and sometimes
the outline view doesn't appear for 
a file.  

Now, you may have seen other notes
on the mailing list describing how we are 
now working on the 'next generation'
of AJDT and that version *will* work 
properly with Eclipse 3.0.  The
problems we have just encountered with M5 just 
give us an impetus to get moving quicker
on this next generation version - and
we want to devote our development efforts
to getting this new variant out
sooner rather than 'hacking' the old
AJDT into life on M5.

The existing 1.1.4 release will work
on Eclipse 2.1 and up to Eclipse 3.0M4.  
We are considering one more release
of the 'old' technology (1.1.5) to 
pick up some bug fixes, but that version
still won't work on M5.

If you absolutely *must must must*
work with AJDT on 3.0 M5, let us know.
