Re: [aperi-dev] Aperi installation process and documentation -R3

Chris,
There are changes to the overall directory structure.  This does not change the installation process (from the end-user perspective)  if the automated installation is run.  However, if someone adds the 3rd party libraries manually, they will be affected.  Here are the changes:
1. There is only 1 /plugins directory instead of the one that lived in each of the old runtime directories (devsvr, gui, agent, datasvr)
        So now you have        /datasvr
                                /devsvr
                                /db
                                /agent
                                /gui
                                /plugins  (on the same level)

There is a second change:
2. /rcpgui is also on the top level.  It has its own plugins directory

Although the R2 gui is still present (under /gui), users should invoke the rcpgui for release 3 - /rcpgui/AperiRcpGui.exe

Third change:
3. The automated download of third-party libraries (/configure/download.xml) only downloads sblimCIMClient.jar and sblimSLPClient.jar.  The other files that were listed in download.xml are now apart of the aperi package.

[aperi-dev] Aperi installation process and documentation -R3

** Request for information about any changes to the Aperi installation process for R3 **

For the upcoming release of Aperi R3, is anyone making further changes or additions to the current installation process? This might include changes to such things as:

- Hardware and software requirements
- Database requirements
- Third-party file requirements
- The Configurator
- Aperi start and shutdown processes
- Uninstallaion processes

Please review the existing R2 installation instructions and let me know of any changes or additions that I will need to make to ensure that they are accurate and complete for R3.
