[aether-users] FileRepositoryConnector vs. WagonRepositoryConnector + FileWagon

Hi all,
hopefully this is the right list ot ask such a question, but it
certainly touches upon Aether usage:
What are the pros and cons of using FileRepositoryConnector vs.
WagonRepositoryConnector + FileWagon. Both seem to accomplish the same
thing: connect to repos behind "file:" URIs.
Now, the org.eclipse.aethert p2 repo conveniently ships a
FileRepositoryConnector, whereas the o.e.m2e.maven.runtime bundle (my
source for all things org.sonatype.aether) lacks said connector but
ships a FileWagon.
What are the trade-offs I need to be aware of when picking one over the
other?
