Description nicolas mai CLA 2005-06-08 05:10:56 EDT
The current formatter line wrapping doesn't do what my "non-using eclipse"
co-workers expect :)
For example, they prefer to have operators like "+" to be located before an
expression wrapping, rather than at the beginning of the next line.
If I disable all the wrappings options (for all elements), and if I wrap
manually the lines, then after a format, Eclipse automatically merges the
manually wrapped lines...
The formatter is a nice feature and it's useful apart from wrapping. What I
suggest, is an option in the formatter, which would let the user works with it:
the formatter would only format the lines (with contents) that are given (or
already wrapped by the users). It can wrap if needed, but cannot merge lines.

This request exactly matches the 'Never Join Lines' preferences introduced in 3.5 version, hence change the duplicate...
