This extension point allows users to implement their own content handlers to the XML Validator so they can add their own validation checking. Using this extension users would add custom validation messages. A patch for the cheat sheet editor plugin will be attached as an example. The extended cheat sheet validator will check to see that the pluginid attribute value in the cheat sheet is valid.

David Williams, regarding your comment on one of the duplicate bugs about using the validation framework's API: I am not completely sure what you mean, but I assume it has to do with using an XMLValidationInfo object to report the errors rather than an IReporter. We are working on this but it will require some refactoring of the validators. I put this up to a bugzilla since today is my last day at IBM (returning to school) and i did not want the idea to get lost.
Moving to "later" state, to document that we do not plan to carry implementation forward right now, but possibly in future releases.
This is part of a mass update to close out all stale WTP bugs which are in the resolved state without an appropriate targeted version. If you feel this bug was closed inappropriately, please reopen.
Bugs resolved with "Later" should not have been closed, reopening this bug.
Pushing back to the Resolved->Later state.
