Description Ken George CLA 2004-10-21 22:16:05 EDT
Running the latest version of Eclipse, I am not able to get code-completion to
work when pressing CTRL-SPACE --- nothing happens.
Comment 1 Pascal Rapicault CLA 2004-10-22 11:41:49 EDT
Please provide the eclipse build id (Help > About Platform).
Is there anything in the log?

Is your project correctly setup as Java project?
Does Edit > Content Assist work?
Comment 4 Ken George CLA 2004-11-01 15:05:47 EST
Yes, Edit -> Content Assist does work, just not CTRL + Space
Comment 5 Dani Megert CLA 2004-11-02 03:37:26 EST
Is there a key binding indicated in the menu?
Try resetting the key bindings (Keys preference page).

Did that, but still does not work.

Comment 9 Ken George CLA 2004-11-02 10:53:19 EST
Yes - Ctrl + Space
Comment 10 Dani Megert CLA 2004-11-02 11:02:31 EST
Just to confirm: you're using the Java editor, right?

Maybe some tool or application eats Ctrl+Space. Can you try to assign a
different key binding (Keys preference page) and see whether it works. Also, try
to enter Ctrl+Space and see whether this works.

Did you do a fresh install (not unzip over existing one)? If not, try a fresh
install.
Comment 11 Ken George CLA 2004-11-02 16:17:42 EST
I double-checked and I am using the Java Editor. This even occurs using a
fresh-install. I remapped Content Assist to Ctrl+` and this still has the same
effect (not working). I can easily select Edit -> Content Assist, and the
window will pop-up, but the key-bindings for it will not work. Everything else
seems to be working just fine....

Can you try a simpler key binding e.g. Ctrl+Z (you'd probably have to unassign
it first). Other Ctrl+... key bindings work in the Java editor?

Get rid of deprecated state.
