Description David Baker CLA 2004-10-13 10:59:05 EDT
I recently installed XP SP2.

I also have MyEclipse 3.8.0 installed

class/method reference requests and class/method compare requests are very
slow.

After doing a few class/method reference requests, Eclipse crashes with an out
of memory error

I guess you're using 3.0.1 build?
May you attach .log file to this bug (you'll find it in .metadata directory of
your workspace).
Can you also give us example of search requests you performed before the crash
(using search dialog and/or contextual popup-menu, type of scope, etc...) ?
Please reopen bug when providing these information, thanks

One additional question: what do you mean by "compare reports"?

Other question to see if this bug is similar to bug 73403:
are you using IBM WebTools in your workspace?
Comment 5 David Baker CLA 2004-10-28 07:57:23 EDT
I decided to reimage my machine from the ground up, reinstalled XP, Java 5,
Eclipse 3.0.1 and myEclipse 3.8.2. The system seems to be working ok now. I
have had a few out of memory crashes, but I think it's because I have not
increased the max memory parameter. For now, you should close this bug report.
I am not using IBM web tools.

OK, thanks for the feedback.
Reopen to change resolution (we do not have fixed anything here...)
Comment 7 Frederic Fusier CLA 2004-10-28 08:09:47 EDT
Close as WORKSFORME as nothing has been fixed about this issue.
