I'd like to have the Home and End keys to be non-smart, such that I can jump to
the start/end of a line with one keystroke. I can configure this by disabling
"Smart caret positioning at line start and end" in Java > Editor > Navigation.

However, I'd still like to jump to the "smart" text start/end of a line once in
a while. It would be convenient if the caret would jump to the "smart" position
when the key is pressed a second time.

E.g. the Home key would toggle between "smart" and "column==0" home position on
repeated keystrokes.

We won't make the non-smart mode a bit smarter. What we could do is allow to
configure the jump sequence in smart mode, e.g.
[ ] First jump to line start/end

if smart home/end become configurable, this sounds like it'd be a nice 
candidate to push down to the base.  i can see lots of other editors wanting 
this functionality as well (there are already bugs open on cdt, jsp for it)
