Description Kahro Raie CLA 2004-05-08 14:16:41 EDT
3.0M8

When working with CVS and many developers, it's difficult to use the code
formatter. Trouble is that eclipse processes existing line breaks (breaks
differently) and that makes conflict resolving difficult (not sure if there are
any changes). Also the other may not like if their code is broken at different
places (the indentation change is ok).

The same behaviour disturbes when I want to manually break a line at the
beginning but would like to leave the ending for eclipse (for comfort). In that
case my manual break is connected up again and the break is not so nice anymore.

I propose that the problem could be resolved as in IDEA and the linebreaks that
are allready in place will be left alone. The "keep excisting linebreaks"
feature could be controlled by a single checkbox in the formatter controls section.
