Description Mandy Chan CLA 2004-04-21 15:19:28 EDT
When I use the feature manifest editor to edit this file, it will delete any
comments in my source.

What I was doing... I've imported a sample feature from my install team and
started updating it but the editor deleted all the comments which were
instructive and useful.

I'm using this integration driver: eclipse-SDK-I20040413-win32.zip

This is a big problem for people that need to put license headers in their
source files. If I put a license header in an XML comment just below
feature.xml's <?xml> start tag, the license header is removed when the
feature.xml editor is saved.

The plugin.xml editor does not do this.

Don't have time currently to fix the entire problem as we would like. As a solution for a percentage of users, we are adding support to not erase a copyright. PDE will not erase the first comment in a feature.xml, which is found before the "feature" element. This should help users like in comment #3. The added support is in 3.3M4.

marking this one resolved as a duplicate of one of our favourite bugs in PDE
