I have been using Eclipse 3.0 M8 for a couple weeks and have run into a pattern w/ the creation of a new class file. This is not always consistent but I have been getting it multiple times per day. I use the Rational Clearcase plugin among others but I have not seen a correllation with anything in particular. I create a new class and begin editing. I go to save the file and eclipse seems like it has saved it, but the heading still has a (*) in it. I close the file and eclipse prompts me to save. At this point I select no (because it has actually saved in background) and it closes the window. I reopen the source file and begin editing and upon actual source entry (not arrow keys) eclipse adds text extremely slowly, on the order of a character every 1-2 seconds. I have to then shut down eclipse and restart, at which point the file is accessible. I have also noticed that when this occurs, selection with the mouse become extremely slow and unusable. Let me know if I can provide any details about my runtime setup that you need. Thanks, Peter
Please check whether there are exceptions written to .log (can also be seen in Error log view). If so, attach them to this bug report. Produce a stack dump by pressing Ctrl+Break in the console which starts eclipse.
